Wear two different shoes on October 14 and feel the difference.
Some people have a smoother path in life than others.
By stepping into someone else’s shoes, even for just a moment, we experience a difference we can feel. A small discomfort that reminds us that not everyone is equally privileged. It's a small act that sets something bigger in motion: empathy and respect. Because true understanding arises when we dare to stand in someone else’s shoes.
One day. Two different shoes. A message everyone can help spread. Join us on October 14, share your mismatched pair and inspire others to step in too.
On October 14, wear two different shoes as a visible sign of empathy and solidarity.
Share a photo or video of your mismatched shoes on social media using #MismatchedShoesDayBE.
Tag someone and invite them to wear two different shoes too.
"I've taken my step.
Now I invite you to take yours."
Mismatched Shoes Day is an initiative of the Belgian regional ESF+ Funds, with support from the European Union and the regional and community authorities.
Together, they invest in local projects that strengthen participation, equal opportunities and social inclusion across Belgium, including projects that help people access the labour market. Through Mismatched Shoes Day, some of those stories and experiences are brought into view to encourage greater empathy and understanding.
