Mismatched Shoes Day is a nationwide campaign that invites people across Belgium to wear two different shoes as a visible sign of social inclusion. The campaign creates space for stories about the barriers people can face and encourages people, organisations and communities to help make inclusion more visible.
Mismatched Shoes Day is an initiative of the Belgian regional ESF+ Funds, with support from the European Union and the regional and community authorities. Together, they invest in projects across Belgium that strengthen participation, equal opportunities and social inclusion, and help people access the labour market. These projects support people facing different barriers and challenges, each in their own way.

Mismatched Shoes Day will be marked across Belgium on 14 October 2026. A central campaign event will take place at Gare Maritime at Tour & Taxis in Brussels.
